Specialties

Our office offers several high tech and up to date treatment options.

Diagnostic Ultrasound
Diagnostic ultrasound is used to view the soft tissues of the foot and ankle in the same way that ultrasound is used to visualize the unborn infant. It is painless and gives us the ability to view soft tissue injuries immediately.

Dr. Scales and Dr. Hineser have been using Diagnostic Ultrasound for several years and has taught courses on this technique and trained other podiatrists to perform Diagnostic Ultrasound.

Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy

ESWT – Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy is a procedure used to treat chronic heel pain (plantar fasciitis/heel spur syndrome). “Extracorporeal” means “outside of the body,” and refers to this non-invasive surgical procedure in which strong sound waves are directed at the area of heel pain. The device used is similar to that currently used in non-surgical treatment of kidney stones.

Laser Surgery

Dr. Scales and Dr. Hineser uses Laser Surgery to treat common skin conditions such as ingrown nails, warts, and other soft tissue problems. We conveniently have a Laser on site, and are able to treat these conditions quickly and efficiently in our office.

Prolotherapy

This technique dates back to the time of Hippocrates. Prolotherapy uses small amounts of simple solutions, such as glucose, to strengthen ligaments and tendons. Using this technique on ankle injuries, plantar fasciitis, and sprains and strains, often allows us to treat conditions non-surgically, which would otherwise require surgery.

Digital X-ray

Colorado foot health center is proud to now offer digital x-ray diagnostic technology. This now allows us take an x-ray and view it almost instantly. We no longer need to wait for the chemical development, and the x-rays can viewed with the patients within minutes in the treatment rooms.
